Techera: The best buildings are functional and beautiful at the same time. Architecture and design website Architizer recently honored the top new buildings in the world at its annual A+ Awards. From thousands of entries, winners were selected by both a jury and popular-choice vote in each of 113 categories.

BEST HIGHER RESEARCH FACILITY: The New School of Architecture at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden that is designed by Tham & Videgård Arkitekter.
BEST HEALTHCARE/WELLNESS CENTER: Naman Retreat Pure Spa, a retreat in Danang, Vietnam that is designed by MIA Design Studio.
BEST RELIGIOUS BUILDING: Crematorium Hofheide, a crematorium in Holsbeek, Belgium that is designed by RCR Arquitectes and Coussée & Goris architecten.
BEST LARGE PRIVATE HOUSE: The Greja House, a family home in Singapore that is designed by Park + Associates Pte Ltd.
BEST RESTAURANT: Mirrors, a restaurant in Gifu Province, Japan, a popular destination during cherry blossom season that is designed by bandesign,Ltd.
BEST HOME INTERIOR DESIGN: The Jerry House, a holiday home at Thailand's Cha Am Beach for a family with four sons that is designed by Onion.
BEST KINDERGARTEN: Hanazono Kindergarten and Nursery, a school in Miyakojima, Japan, that was built to withstand typhoons that is designed by HIBINOSEKKEI + Youji no Shiro.
BEST RESIDENTIAL CONCEPT: Golden Ratio, a four-unit luxury apartment building in Ghent, Belgium that is designed by Govaert & Vanhoutte Architects.
BEST LOW RISE OFFICE: Termeh office, a retail and office building in Hamadan, Iran that is designed by Farshad Mehdizadeh + Ahmad Bathaei.
BEST FACTORY: A factory in Spain that is designed by Agag+Paredes.
BEST APARTMENT BUILDING: The Great Wall of Wa, a 12-unit complex in Western Australia. The rammed-earth structure was built for short-term housing during cattle mustering season that is designed by Luigi Rosselli Architects.
BEST HOTEL CONCEPT: Zulal Destination Spa + Resort, a planned hotel in Qatar that is designed by Oppenheim Architecture.
BEST MUSEUM: Biesbosch Museum Island, a contemporary art museum in Werkendam, Netherlands that is designed by Studio Marco Vermeulen.
