Master bathrooms are becoming points of focus for homeowners across the country. It is one of the most used rooms in the house and people are beginning to seize the opportunity to make a statement with it, MarketWatch reports.
Master baths are beginning to draw even with master bedrooms in size. In luxury developments, a 600 square foot master bathroom isn’t out of the ordinary. Larger walk-in showers, stall showers without a tub, and radiant heated floors were all more popular in 2015 than they were in 2014.
However, if the main impetus behind redoing and upgrading a bathroom is to help resale value, you may want to rethink that plan, as bathroom remodeling only recouped about 56 percent of its costs at sale time. But most people are not looking to drastically improve their homes resale value, but, instead, to create a quiet, relaxing space for themselves.
